An afternoon of craft in the quiet of Garrya. Choose a table matcha session or a kintsugi workshop, guided by a Kyoto artisan.

Kyoto's crafts are not performed. They are practiced — slowly, attentively, until the hand knows what to do.

During your stay, choose one: a table matcha session in the ryūrei manner, where tea is prepared seated at a table rather than on tatami, or a kintsugi workshop, where a broken vessel is joined and its seam traced in gold. Both are led by a Kyoto artisan in the hotel's lobby, open to a courtyard of maple, moss, stone and still water.

Nothing is rushed. Nothing is decorative. Only the material, the hand, and the time it takes — Beauty in Simplicity, felt from the inside.

Additional Policy
An additional Kyoto City Tax will be applied per person per night. Room rate below 20,000 JPY: 400 JPY; 20,000 to 49,999 JPY: 1,000 JPY; 50,000 to 99,999 JPY: 4,000 JPY; 100,000 JPY and above: 10,000 JPY. To be paid by guests directly at the hotel.


Child Policy

  • Infants and toddlers, who are 4 years old or younger, accompanied by an adult, dine and stay in existing bedding at our compliments
  • Children under 12 years old, accompanied by an adult, can stay on existing bedding at our compliments
  • Child menu is available with charges
  • Children 12 years old or older are considered adults - During dinner time at Singular Restaurant, Children are only accepted with a minimum age of 6. For Families with children below 6, we will provide in-room dining instead

Cancel Policy
Reservation requires full prepayment. It is non-cancellable, non-refundable, and no changes are allowed. Your credit card will be charge 100% of the total reservations cost upon making reservations.
